Coastal Laguna Beach Engagement
Laguna Beach is one of my favorite places for engagement photos in Southern California. Between the coastline, cliffs, open beaches, and constantly changing light, we can create a gallery with plenty of variety without making the session feel overly planned or posed.
For this engagement session, we kept things relaxed and focused on movement, connection, and simply enjoying the evening together. I gave direction when it was helpful, but left plenty of room for the spontaneous moments in between.
If you’re planning engagement photos in Laguna Beach, I highly recommend scheduling your session around sunset. The light becomes softer and warmer as the evening goes on, and staying through the final part of sunset gives us several different looks within a single session, from bright coastal photographs to softer golden light and the moodier tones that appear after the sun begins to disappear.
Weekdays are usually my first choice whenever your schedule allows. Laguna Beach can become especially busy on weekends, so a weekday evening often gives us a more relaxed experience and fewer people to work around.
I also recommend checking the tide when planning a beach session. Some areas of the coastline can look completely different depending on the water level, and higher tides can limit how much of certain beaches or rocky areas we’re able to use.
Don’t worry about knowing how to pose or what to do in front of the camera. I’ll help choose the location, plan around the light, and give you direction throughout the session while keeping everything natural and easy.
